The Alfreton Area - Shillong Link

This started as the Crich - Shillong link

Lambeth 1998 Rt. Revd. Purely Lyngdoh and his wife Nancy visit Crich prior to conference.

October 1999 Revd. Philip Brooks and Jane Bennett visit Shillong as part of partnership trip.

April 2000 Revd. Gaius Shullai of Jowai visits Crich

August 2001 Revd. David Higgon and family visit Shillong at time of Diocesan anniversary celberations.

April 2002 Revd. Prestley Lyngdoh of Shillong Cathedral visits Crich

July 2003 Rt. Revd. Purely Lyngdoh and his wife Nancy visit Crich.

May 2004 4 Sunday School teachers from Shillong visit Crich and Morton

December 2004 Deena Barla from Board of Social Responsibility visits Shirland and Crich.

Over time the link has been increasingly with the wider Alfreton Deanery.

Now All Saints South Wingfield supports a lay evangelist, Ajit Sahu, in the Diocese of N.E. India.

Through the crosslinks BEST programme St. Mary's Crich has supported Malin Dahanga through his training for ordination. Malin is now working with the poor in Shillong. They are currently supporting Stephen Nag through ordination training.
